Libby Mueller Each year the Tempe Chamber invites college interns to gain valuable work experience through support roles within the organization.  Just over a year ago the Tempe Chamber welcomed Arizona State University student Libby Mueller to join the team as its Public Policy Intern.

Libby says her interest in the position was because she has wanted to expand her knowledge on policy and processes at the state and local levels.  “Over the course of this past year, I have learned more than I could have ever imagined (cliché, I know),” said Libby. “Having the opportunity to work closely with President and CEO Anne Gill was such a rewarding and fruitful experience. I was immersed deeply into the politics of Arizona and learned the ins and outs of how policy is created and executed at our legislature. From presenting policy research to our Chamber Alliance and members to shadowing our lobbyists, I truly have done it all over this last year and could not be more thankful.”

“The Tempe Chamber’s goal is to provide an experience that offers our interns the opportunity to learn about Tempe, expand their network, and give them the skills needed to be successful as they prepare to enter the workforce,” said Anne Gill, President & CEO.  “We were lucky to have Libby as part of our team this past year.  Her skillset and passion for our mission was evident in the quality of her work, which made a positive impact on our organization.”

Libby completed her internship with the Tempe Chamber on December 5th and will be graduating from Arizona State University’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, School of Politics & Global Studies later this month. She has earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science, a minor in Justice Studies, and a Certificate in International Studies.

After graduation, Libby plans to stay in the greater Phoenix area where she hopes to start a career in state and local politics.  The Tempe Chamber would like to thank Libby for her hard work throughout this past year and wish you nothing but the best in your next endeavors.
