Each year, this powerful event brings together hundreds of business leaders in a setting that celebrates success, facilitates network development and offers incredible opportunities for personal and business growth.
A trade show featuring local and national organizations and businesses provides the backdrop to a luncheon and presentations by powerful keynote speakers. Themed “Lead, Learn, Grow,” the event’s speakers deliver inspirational messages that touch on these elements and motivate each member of the audience to strive for fulfillment, happiness and success.
Announcing the 2017 program…
Liz Warren, a fourth-generation Arizonan and director of the South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute in Phoenix, will be this year’s emcee.
Warren serves as storytelling coach for the Arizona Storytellers Project produced by the Arizona Republic. In July 2014 she received the Oracle Award for Service and Leadership from the National Storytelling Network. In September 2014 she was named to the New Times list of 100 Creatives in Phoenix.
Her textbook, The Oral Tradition Today: An Introduction to the Art of Storytelling is used at colleges around the nation.
A panel discussion and breakout session led by inspirational speakers will begin the conference and set the stage for the keynote speaker and Business Woman of the Year award presentation.
Dr. Aneesah Nadir will moderate the “Lead” panel discussion as she speaks with local innovators and trailblazers in their field. Dr. Nadir has been a social worker for almost 40 years and was the past president of the Islamic Social Services Association-USA. She has taught social work at Arizona State University. Members of the panel will be announced shortly.
Margo Brown will deliver the “Grow“ breakout session. Brown is a productivity coach and professional organizer with Wave Productivity. She was the first Arizona Professional Organizer to earn the Workplace Productivity Certificate with the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and served as the Arizona chapter’s president in 2015-2016.
The keynote speaker for the conference and the “Learn” segment will be Debbie Gaby. Debbie is an area entrepreneur and philanthropist. Gaby, who was known as “America’s Sleep Queen,” was president and spokesman for Sleep America, Arizona’s largest mattress retailer in Arizona before the company was sold in 2015.
Gaby is also recognized as a champion philanthropist and benefactor, establishing Sleep America Charities and later Debbie Gaby Charities.
We’ll also celebrate the success of our Women in Business Mentoring Program, as we hear firsthand from some of the program’s participants during their graduation ceremony.
The day culminates with the Business Woman of the Year award presentation. This year’s finalists are Margo Brown, productivity coach at Wave Productivity; Tracy Bullock, president of Bullock Training & Development; and Dawn Hocking, director of development for The Centers for Habilitation.
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and includes a plated lunch.
