Military Affairs Committee
Mission
Empowering veterans and active military to thrive in our community by fostering collaboration, identifying opportunities, and providing access to essential resources.
Purpose
The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) recognizes and rewards outstanding service. They achieve this in three ways:
Military Recognition: The MAC honors exceptional military officers and enlisted personnel.
Scholarship Programs: Through sponsorships and fundraising events, and the MAC Emeritus Council, they award scholarships to three outstanding cadets in the ASU ROTC program and one Tempe veteran through the Merle Fister Veteran Scholarship. In 2020, they established the "Kyle Brayer Veteran in Public Safety Award" to recognize exceptional veterans in the public safety field.
Community Support:
Beyond recognition, the MAC fosters connections between businesses and veterans. They also assist employers with developing workplace resources and programs that benefit veterans.
